The PV1D has long been regarded as an icon of subwoofer design, both for its striking shape and superlative sonic performance. But these two things are strongly connected; it’s inherent stability means it can be pushed just that bit further and the symmetrical mounting of its twin drive units keeps it perfectly balanced and anchored to the floor.

PV1D’s twin 200mm (8inch) drivers are Paper-Kevlar® /aluminium composite in design. This provides an incredibly rigid cone that flexes less than other commonly used materials, especially when pushed hard, which the PV1D excels at.
The only force a bubble’s elastic skin can support is surface tension, so the pressure inside forces it into a spherical shape, which is best suited to naturally contain pressure. A bubble with non-elastic skin can resist internal pressure changes. When maximising internal volume whilst minimising the size of a subwoofer, this is a great advantage.
PV1D uses two identical drivers mounted back-to-back so that the reaction forces cancel. Because of this there is no need to spike and, indeed, the rubber mount mechanically isolates the subwoofer from its platform. This provides the perfect platform for the drivers and audiophile amplification to work from.
PV1D can be fine-tuned and controlled with incredible precision. Do you love the visceral deep-bass impact of special movie sound effects? Or maybe you prefer a flatter response, to compensate for a more resonant listening environment? Whatever your listening tastes, with a full range of EQ options at your disposal, the choice is yours.
PV1D is the perfect partner for a wide range of speakers and systems. Thanks to its quality and digital controls it is equally at home in a home cinema set up, a custom installation or adding depth to a stand-mounted stereo set up. It also works well with our Mini Theatre systems, and is a complete all-rounder.
