Tone Audio - January 2013Read the full review

"Listening to Keith Jarrett’s Shostakovich: 24 Preludes and Fugues, Op. 87 equated to a spectacular experience on the desktop; with my eyes closed, it seemed like a piano was floating on my desk. An uncanny level of resolution sets the MM-1s apart from many of the other powered computer speakers I’ve experienced. They reproduce spatial cues and create a three-dimensional soundfield in a way I’ve yet to experience with this type of product. Good sound is contagious. This is truly a product you will wonder how you ever lived without."

"The transparency the MM-1s deliver is particularly noteworthy; you can really get a feel for where in the mix each and every element was mastered, whether a cello, a flute, a viola or a xylophone."

Wall Street Journal - August 2011Read the full review

"Big dynamic range, including the kind of bass that will make the guy in the office next to you hate the fact that you play "Seven Nation Army" every Friday before leaving work. These speakers also do a stellar job of hiding the plugs, which live beneath the bottom of the right speaker. The left speaker has a space designed to spool any extra wire connecting the two channels—no need to use an unsightly twist-tie."

"Magnificent sound. The Bowers & Wilkins MM1 speakers is the best computer speaker I have ever used. The sound is truly awesome and breathtaking and you are in a state of bliss listening to Rock, Vocals, Live recordings, Top 40 hits and all kinds of music. It makes you want to listen to music again - worth every penny."

Your Tech Report - December 2010Read the full review

"Instead of thinking of the MM-1s as computer speakers, think of them as a pair of high-end, hi-fidelity speakers that are small enough to sit next to your computer. Diving into iTunes and listening to a variety of tracks will bring a broad smile to your face. The fact is, we don’t expect speakers of this size to sound this good; It doesn’t matter what audio setup you have in your main room–you will be impressed by the MM-1s."

The Gadgeteer - October 2010Read the full review

"If you want just about the cleanest, most satisfying listening experience possible from desktop speakers, then you gotta try these. When I first heard the MM-1s, my reviewer mode immediately kicked in and I tried to think of a short, clever description. And one word kept coming back… effortless. And that’s the magic. The MM-1s sound full, warm and accurate with just the right amount of bass without breaking a sweat. Clean, both in sound and design and fastidiously accurate."

"MM1 speakers are so good, you should just stop reading this review now and start earning some of the bucks you’ll need to pay for them. We were amazed at the clarity and level of detail Bowers & Wilkins has managed to eke out of such small speakers. Bass is taut and deep, maintaining its character even at high volumes. Treble is crisp, and the overall sound quality is the best we’ve heard from a pair of desktop speakers. Solidly built and sound spectacular - intended for the desktop, but they’re powerful enough to pump music to a decent-sized room as well."

Macworld - April 2010Read the full review

"If you’re after detailed sound in a near-field listening environment, these speakers provide it. The MM-1 is designed to be listened to up close—with the speakers a couple of feet apart and that same couple of feet away from your ears. From this distance you’ll hear just about everything a recording has to offer (minus the lowest frequencies, of course), perfectly spread across the soundstage. The mids and highs are nicely evident without sounding overly manipulated. If you are particular about sound—even the sound coming from your Mac—you owe it to yourself to audition the MM-1."

Wired - April 2010Read the full review

"B&W have finally brought their signature combination of sonic virtuosity and aesthetic awesomeness to the home office - elevate your workspace to the very definition of nerd chic. The MM-1s are beautiful from every angle. Plus, their compact size won’t have you reorganizing your desktop in search of extra space. More than just trophy speakers, the MM-1s produce deep, rich tones and killer bass. Terrific sound across the entire spectrum. The depth of sound excels across genres and mediums, which makes these a welcome addition to any home office."

PC Mag - April 2010Read the full review

"Phenomenal speakers for your computer. Stellar audio performance with excellent clarity in mid and high frequencies. At virtually all levels, the MM-1 sounded fantastic. Orchestral music sounds superb on the MM-1. Bernard Herrmann's Vertigo film score's harps and strings shined in my tests. The MM-1 reproduced the delicate, spooky sounds without any tinny side effects, and the lower orchestral instruments were portrayed with just the right level of low-end resonance."

"The Bowers & Wilkins MM-1 speakers will make you fall in love with your digital music collection all over again."
