To mark our partnership with Wolfgang Tillmans at
the Tate Modern we are making Wolfgang’s
Colourbox compilation for the gallery available to
purchase on Society of Sound.
Music of the band (1982-1987) has been selected by
Wolfgang Tillmans as a celebration of Colourbox,
released to coincide with the contemporary artist’s
first major exhibition at the Tate Modern in London.
This is a celebration of studio recording, as
Colourbox never played live and released sample
heavy pop music taking influences from many
different genres. This album gives you
the opportunity to listen to a selection of their
recorded music in stunning high definition, as it
was intended to be heard.
Wolfgang Tillmans' exhibition at Tate Modern London
is open to the public until June 11th 2017. The playback
room in the exhibition features three tracks from this compilation played on a loop through Bowers & Wilkins 800 D3 powered by Rotel amplifiers. Read the full blog piece here.
