Software Development Engineer - Test

Bowers & Wilkins, based in Redwood City, is currently seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test to be a part of building the most innovative audio and visual systems the world has yet to see. You’ll work with executive staff, engineers, and designers to help shape a working environment to build the best product possible. Our team practices agile, fast-paced development that relies heavily on a tight relationship between Engineering and QA.

Software Development Engineer in Test, (A/V, firmware, network connectivity).

Responsibilities:

• Analyze and decompose complex software systems and collaborate with cross-functional teams to influence design for testability.
• Development of white box test routines and tools to meet the needs of your team.
• Contribute to engineering efforts from design to implementation, solving complex technical challenges around developer and engineering productivity and velocity.
• Design and build advanced automated build, test and release infrastructure.


Minimum qualifications:

• BS in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with one or more of the following programming languages: C/C++, Python, or Go.
• Experience in at least one of the following: test automation, refactoring code, test-driven development, build infrastructure, optimizing software, debugging, building tools and testing frameworks.
• Experience with open source tools and resources.


Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar technical field.
• Experience with embedded Linux based distribution development and testing – HAL/SAL, kernel/user level drivers, file systems, multi-threaded process, security, etc.
• Experience contributing to open source projects.
Expertise in one or more of the following areas:
• Connectivity technologies – 802.3, 802.11, Bluetooth, etc.
• HDMI – input/output path, HDCP source/sink/repeater, CEC, EDID.
• Audio – Advanced Linux Sound Architecture (ALSA) audio routing, DSP/DAC control, 3rd party streaming services integration.
